Top Five Bookish Resolutions for 2016

Top Ten Tuesday Broke and Bookish

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Ah, bookish resolutions. How I love to set you and then watch myself fail miserably at them. (You all think I’m kidding but I’ve just taken a look back at several of my bookish resolutions for the past few years, and guess how many I completed? NONE OF THEM.) Anyway, we all love a good list, and you never know, 2016 may be the year that I meet one of them. (Stop laughing. I can hear you all.

Read City of Heavenly Fire
I think it’s time I finally put this series to bed. I completed The Infernal Devices last year (yay!), so I am prepped and ready to read this beast of a book.

Catch up with my Netgalley Reviews
This should be fairly easy to do as I haven’t got many left to catch up on! But I do want to be more conscientious with my Netgalley reviews and try and read, review and post them in a timely manner.

Only review books that I want to review
Review books aside, I don’t want to review every book I read if I don’t want to. If I want to talk about the book here, then I will. And if I don’t feel like I have anything to say about it, then I don’t want to force myself into reviewing it for the sake of writing a review.

Finally start the Throne of Glass series
Everyone raves about it and I really need to get my arse into gear and just pick the books up.

Pick up a few non-fiction titles
I haven’t got a clue what these will be, but I want to read some non-fiction this year, so hopefully I can do so!

I actually find it embaressing how often I declare ‘Im going to do such and such’ on my blog and then never do it, so I feel you on the New Year resolutions. I have Throne of Glass on my reading list too, I needed to see what all the fuss was about. Happy Reading!

Great resolutions! I read CoHF last year and liked it, so I hope that you do too! Hopefully the Infernal Devices will happen for me this year *fingers crossed* YES on review books and Netgalley and all that stuff. I’m taking a bit of a step back from review books this year too. And reviewing books in general. And YAY for Throne of Glass! It’s just as wonderful as everyone says. I was afraid of the hype, but picked it up last year and just loved it. I’d recommend starting with the Assassin’s Blade (usually I skip the novellas, but this one is definitely a key component of the series since it gives more depth to the main character). Both it and ToG are a bit slower, but the series really takes flight with Crown of Midnight and I was OBSESSED at that point. Let me know what you think too!!
