Top 10 Secondary Characters Who Deserve Their Own Book

November 11, 2014

toptentuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a fun meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

I always feel like a lot of secondary characters get cheated on purely because they never get their own books. Hence why I’ll never be a successful author – all my characters will have to have their own stories!

1) Ben Cassidy from Jellicoe Road
Oh come on. You know it’s not a surprise. My love for this character runs deep.

2) Lucien from Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour
I’ve always been intrigued by his character, so a story about him would be excellent.

3) Tiny Cooper from Will Grayson, Will Grayson
How fabulous would this book be?!

4) Infinite Darlene from Boy Meets Boy
Again, fabulous.

5) Waverly from You Are Mine
I’d love a bit of backstory about Waverly, particularly about her life before she arrived in Chardonia.

6) Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter
Had to get a Harry Potter character in there. You guys have no idea how difficult it was to choose just one character. I’m including Neville as a ‘secondary’ character because we never followed his life like we did Harry’s, and I’d love to just know more about him.

7) Thomas from Anna Dressed in Blood
Ghosthunting with Thomas. What an excellent book that would be.

8) Renfield from Dearly, Departed
It would be full of dry humour and witty remarks and I would love it obnoxiously.

9) Jules from Die For Me
A novella just isn’t enough, I’m afraid. I want more. Lots more.

10) Caleb from Divergent
More specifically a book after Allegiant, because I’d love to be inside his brain and find out how he coped after the aftermath of Allegiant.
