Top Ten Book Characters Sitting At My Lunch Table

September 2, 2014

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.

It’s back to school time, although that doesn’t mean a great deal to me any more. I left sixth form in 2011 and haven’t looked back since. I enjoyed main school, but sixth form was probably the biggest waste of two years of my life, unfortunately. Not to say that it’s the same for everyone. But for me personally, I wish I’d never bothered. That being said, I did enjoy lunch time at sixth form, it was a huge social occasion for my friends and I, so this week’s topic was actually pretty difficult for me to just narrow down to ten characters, because I’m this friendly person that wants to sit with everyone.

Ben Cassidy from Jellicoe Road
Okay, I couldn’t have a Top Ten Tuesday topic like this and not include Ben Cassidy. He’s my ultimate book best friend. Seriously. If I could only pull one character out from a book to bring into real life, it would be him.

Tiny Cooper from Will Grayson, Will Grayson
Don’t even begin to tell me that he wouldn’t be fabulous to have at your lunch table. Lunch time would never be boring again! (Although really, it’s never boring because hello, there’s food involved.)

Ryan from Cruel Summer
Obviously he would have to sit next to Tiny. Can you imagine all the sass coming out of this pair?

Jacqueline from Easy
Jacqueline just seems like such an obvious pick for me, you know? As a rule, I get on better with boys than I do with girls but her character was one of the first that popped into my head when I saw this topic.

Cas Lowood from Anna Dressed in Blood
Just to indulge my Buffy the Vampire Slayer Scooby Gang fantasy.

Cammie Morgan from The Gallagher Girls
I can just imagine her sitting at the lunch table, agonising over her latest assignment and whatever boy trouble she was currently having too.

Ronan Lynch from The Raven Boys
What’s a lunch table without a bit of eye candy?!

The Colonel from Looking for Alaska
Another mastermind, although I’d have to keep him and Cammie far apart for everyone else’s safety.

Renfield from Dearly, Departed
I’d love to hear his observations on the rest of the lunch hall, his dry sense of humour really, really makes me laugh.

Fred and George Weasley from Harry Potter
Hopefully we’d still have a lunch table to return to the following day…
